The Princes Town Regional Corporation has acquired an excavator which the region’s chairman believes would help combat floods.
In a Facebook post, Chairman Gowrie Roopnarine noted that two mini excavators were procured in recent years and helped make strides in addressing flooding.
However, he said larger watercourses still posed a challenge which is where the newly acquired larger piece of machinery would assist.
He believes the corporation will now be empowered to effectively address the cleaning and maintenance of larger waterways.
