Barrackpore taxi drivers protested with placards today to highlight the state of St. Croix Road, opposite Rajack Ali Avenue.

A major landslip has led to severe deterioration of the road and has also impacted four homes.

According to Naparima MP Rodney Charles, the slip has now crossed the white line on the road, and is posing imminent danger to more homes and businesses.

Mr Charles says while there have been repeated pleas for intervention, no substantial efforts have been made to repair the roadway, stabilize the landslip or place guardrails.

Instead, he claims the only response has been the replacement of bamboo and caution tape at the site.

Mr Charles is backing their demands for an immediate response from the relevant authorities.
