The amendment to the Property Tax was passed in the Senate yesterday.

This seeks to bring down the tax that is to be paid by property owners from the current 3 per cent to 2.

The Finance Minister also debunked claims about persons who will lose the properties they inherit, because they cannot pay the accumulated property tax it came with.

He says impoverished people who inherit property can apply for up to a full waiver of the accumulated tax.
