A 35-year-old prisoner has been sentenced to jail time after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
John Joseph, of South Trace, Rancho Quemado, appeared before Justice Kathy Ann Waterman-Latchoo on Thursday.
He was sentenced to 22 years’ hard labour, with time spent deducted – as such, he will spend another four years, six months and 18 days in jail.
Joseph was 18 when he was arrested and charged with murder after the body of Susan Mala Ramnarine was found in Erin on September 8th 2006.
On January 16th 2024, he went on trial, where he subsequently pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
