The Princes Town Market will be temporarily closed for repairs.

According to Chairman of the Princes Town Regional Corporation, Gowrie Roopnarine, essential works are scheduled to begin soon.

As such, he says the facility will be closed from October 16th 2023 for about three weeks.

During this time, he says the Corporation will allow vendors to conduct their business on the sides of the streets surrounding the market, ensuring they can continue to generate income.

Mr Roopnarine says the works will enhance the overall safety and functionality of the market.

He adds that the decision was made following a meeting held on October 5th 2023, during which time technical staff of the Regional Corporation and the contractor responsible for the repair works, met with representatives of the vendors at the Princes Town Market.
