The Port Authority says an immediate appeal will be made regarding a case involving maritime attorney Nyree Alfonso.
The Authority and the Attorney General sought relief against Alfonso for an alleged breach of her fiduciary duty in 2013 and 2014 in the procurement of the company ICSL as her agent for the hiring of the MV Superfast Galicia to the Port Authority.
According to reports, the court on Tuesday found that the Authority had not established that Alfonso acted in breach.
In a media release, the Port Authority says Senior Counsel has advised that the judgment be appealed immediately with a “very good chance of success.”
It says they will allow due process of law to take its course on the appeal.
