Police have seized five illegal firearms and a haul of illegal narcotics.
Five suspects have also been held, with investigations continuing into all matters.
The arrests and seizures came during strategic, intelligence-led operations carried out over the past few days.
- Central Division: Officers discovered a black Mac-10 firearm with 11 rounds of 9mm ammunition while responding to a report of an armed suspect near an abandoned building on Flemming Street, Longdenville.
- Western Division: WDGIU officers executing a search warrant at Luckput Street found a loaded black pistol, eight packets of cocaine (231.5 grams), and 80 packets of cannabis (298 grams). A 40-year-old man and a 45-yearold woman were arrested.
- North Central Division: Officers conducting a roving operation discovered a black revolver with six rounds of .38 ammunition in a Hyundai Matrix. A 35- year-old Chaguanas man was arrested on multiple charges.
- Tobago Division: During a drug block operation in the Back Hill Whim district officers found a .25 calibre firearm and one magazine in a bushy area. The firearm was taken to the Scarborough Police Station.
- Northern Division: Acting on a tip, officers found a shotgun wrapped in blue trousers inside a rusty barrel in a forested area near the Arena Dam. The firearm was taken to the Arima Police Station.
- Port of Spain Division: PC Lezama discovered cannabis in a blue Nissan Almera during a mobile patrol along Main Street, Beetham Gardens and arrested the driver, who was taken to Besson Street Police Station for further investigation.
- Central Division: Officers stopped a white Nissan NV200 vehicle along the Caparo Valley Brasso Road and found 435 grams of cannabis. Both male occupants were arrested and charged.
