T&T has conducted the largest seizure of illegal firearms in the country’s history and the find has been linked to suspects in the attempted assassination of the Deputy Prisons Commissioner.
Yesterday, police carried out an exercise in Santa Cruz where they found 13 weapons classified as among the deadliest weapons.
In addition, 1,152 rounds of ammunition and a number of firearm components were seized.
Police Commissioner Erla Christopher says intelligence suggests that the seizures are linked to the suspects in the attack on Deputy Prisons Commissioner Sherwin Bruce and his driver, Prison Officer Steve Phipps.
