Point Fortin man killed after truck tyre explodes

A Point Fortin man was killed by an exploding truck tyre this morning in Sangre Grande.

Around 9am, 38-year-old Rakesh Ramnarine was driving west along the Eastern Main Road in a company truck, when he began experiencing mechanical problems.

He pulled aside, however as he leaned in near the back left tyre to inspect, the tyre exploded.

Ramnarine was thrown backward.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Responding to the incident was Constable Alex Singh and other officers, under the supervision of Inspector Vekash Ramkissoon.
