Point Fortin desal plant to temporarily shut down for repairs

The Point Fortin Desalination Plant will be shutdown from 6am on Thursday (May 15th 2025) to 2am on Friday (May 16th 2025)for mechanical repairs.

The facility is owned and operated by Seven Seas Water and this is expected to impact persons living in parts of Point Fortin and La Brea.

Areas to be affected are: Point Fortin proper, parts of Techier, Vance River, Parrylands, Cochrane, Mahaica, Lot 10, Cochrane, Savannah, Harriman Park, Clifton Hill, Reservoir Hill, Merrimac, Vessigny, TGU, and La Brea (up to the Pitch Lake).

WASA says once the repairs are completed, it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas.
