Prime Minister Stuart Young says he has already engaged with US policymakers regarding the recent decision to revoke the OFAC licences for the Dragon and Cocuina-Manakin fields.
During the TTMA’s Leadership Discussion 2025 this morning, Mr Young said the conversation took place as he was heading to a meeting in Point Fortin last night.
He did not elaborate on the discussion, but insisted that all of T&T’s eggs were not in the “Dragon basket”.
Mr Young also revealed that on his way back from the meeting, he spoke with CARICOM Chair Mia Mottley regarding tariffs proposed by the US.
CARICOM heads are expected to meet on Friday to further discuss this issue.
