PM Young promises to overhaul T&T’s outdated education system

Prime Minister Stuart Young has promised to reform and update the education system if re-elected into office.

At a PNM meeting in Point Fortin last evening, Mr Young said one of his primary objectives is to reform the education system, which he called outdated.

He said there is a need to go beyond traditional secular subjects and allocate adequate resources to technical vocational subjects in the secondary school system.

The Prime Minister said he also held conversations with CARICOM’s Chair Mia Mottley about the need to change CXC’s CSEC syllabus to adapt to the modern age of education.
