It is expected that Suriname will be added to an inter-regional cargo ferry that will operate the T&T, Barbados and Guyana routes.
This was revealed by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley during yesterday’s meeting of the CARICOM Heads of Government in Guyana.
The Office of the Prime Minister said the launch of the cargo ferry is imminent and added that, while government will facilitate the incubation of the project, it hopes that the private sector will play an integral role in the expansion of the service.
Leaders will continue meetings today to discuss Haiti, the Caribbean Development Bank and the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.
