PM suggests deeper collaboration with Canada on regional security

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has called for collaboration with Canada on matters of regional security.

At the ongoing Canada-CARICOM Summit, Dr Rowley said cooperation with Canada was needed with respect to securing small craft to patrol and secure the borders of CARICOM nations.

He also identified police training, particularly in combating cyber-crime, as another area for increased partnership with Canada.

The talks are co-chaired by Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and CARICOM Chair Roosevelt Skerrit, Prime Minister of Dominica and will end today.

It also includes discussions on climate change and resilience, access to finance and global financial architecture reform, Haiti and trade and investment.
