One day after officially assuming the mantle of Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar has spoken with US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.

According to the US Embassy, Mr Rubio called to congratulate Mrs Persad-Bissessar on her election.

It also stated that the US values it “strong partnership” with T&T and looks forward to deepening cooperation on shared priorities that support a prosperous Caribbean.
