T&T will receive assistance with regard to policing strategies, special vetted units to fight organized crime, cyber-security and gun crimes.

This revelation came today from Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley who recently returned from a trip to the United States, where he met with a number of national security officials.

He says the vetted units in particular come as T&T has been attracting elements of international organized crime.

Dr Rowley also spoke about a Gun Crimes Intelligence Unit and Cyber-Security Working Group.

Dr Rowley also declined to comment after being asked about the Police Commissioner’s recent appearance before a Parliamentary Joint Select Committee where she spoke about her clanging 1st year on the job and other issues.
