Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has proposed a parliamentary team for crime talks with the Opposition UNC.
In a letter to Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar, which has been shared to Facebook by the Office of the Prime Minister, Dr Rowley named five people to meet with UNC.
These are: National Security Minister Fitzgerald Hinds, Minister of Energy and Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young, Public Utilities Minister Marvin Gonzales, Tourism Minister Randall Mitchell and Attorney General Reginald Armour.
The PM has now asked the UNC to name a team of four Parliamentarians to meet with the government team.
Dr Rowley also listed 12 areas which he believes should be prioritized in the talks, including bail and the Firearms Control Bill.
Additionally, he proposed that, by way of a majority vote, the team would have the option to co-opt the input of citizens by way of memoranda and/or consultation.
