PM gives update on Tobago oil spill

Government has ascertained information in Guyana about the importation of cargo similar to what was spilled in Tobago earlier this month.

This is according to Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley who, at a media briefing today, clarified that it is yet to be confirmed that this cargo is what was actually spilled at Cove Bay.

However, he added that there is no liability on Guyana even if it the spilled substance is found to be their cargo.

Dr Rowley said the area to pursue is who was transporting the cargo and what liabilities exist there and take it to a court of law.
