Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has rejected claims that Government was withholding information from the THA regarding the overturned vessel spilling oil in Tobago’s waters.
Speaking in the Parliament today, Dr Rowley denied any such occurrence, describing the claim as disturbing and disappointing.
He also dismissed allegations of a link between the vessel and the refinery in Pointe-a-Pierre.
Dr Rowley also insisted that the authorities will relentlessly seek out those responsible and hold them liable.
Meanwhile Chief Secretary Farley Augustine has since responded to the Prime Minister’s statement in the Parliament.
He spoke during a media conference a short while ago.
His questions include: who owns the vessel, where were the schematics for the vessel, why no one has yet come forward about the vessel despite being unable to account for it.
Mr Augustine also told today’s briefing that they still have no confirmation on what the oil-like substance is.
