Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has dismissed suggestions that energy sector talks in London were not significant.
At a media briefing today, the PM expressed disappointment over a reported statement by former Energy Minister Kevin Ramnarine on a new deal for Atlantic LNG.
Dr Rowley claimed the negotiations and other decisions by Government in the hydrocarbon sector allowed it to keep T&T out of an IMF programme.
On another note, the Prime Minister has responded to concerns about the Paria Commission of Enquiry report being “sanitized.”
The Enquiry chaired by Kings Counsel Jerome Lynch examined the circumstances surrounding the deaths of four divers in a Paria pipeline.
The report was handed over to President Christine Kangaloo on November 30th.
Speaking today, Dr Keith Rowley refuted suggestions that the report would be hidden to protect persons involved.
