Perenco T&T says it has encountered “significant columns of natural gas” in the Onyx field.

It says the gas is located in two separate geological compartments.

The Onyx field is an undeveloped gas discovery located within the TSP license, in a water depth of 180 ft, between the Poui and Teak fields, off Trinidad’s south-east coast.

TSP is a joint venture between Perenco T&T, Heritage Petroleum and NGC TT.

A post by the T&T Energy Chamber says the subsurface information is currently under review, with development options to be evaluated in order to move the discovery towards final investment decision.
