A Penal farmer had his van stolen on Wednesday, when he was taken from his garden and left in Moruga by bandits.
61-year-old Bisram Kanhai was reportedly approached by two men while preparing to spray his bodi around 5pm.
The assailants exited a brown wagon and allegedly demanded his phone, wallet and keys for his white Hyundai H-100, registration TCS 5650.
Kanhai told the men to take his belongings but to leave him alone, however they insisted that he must go with them, before putting him into the van which was driven off by one of the men.
They reportedly dropped him off at an area off Poui Trace, Moruga, and made him walk about 100 feet before driving off in the direction of St Mary’s.
Kanhai continued walking until he saw a bread van, flagged it down, and informed the occupant of the ordeal.
Barrackpore Police are investigating and anyone with information is urged to contact the station.
