Patriotic Front’s Political Leader Mickela Panday has claimed that “scare tactics” were allegedly used against her members by two major political parties.
At a press conference yesterday, Ms Panday said she intends to file an official complaint with the Council for Responsible Political Behaviour.
In a press release on Friday, the Patriotic Front said that four of its prospective candidates pulled out of this General Election, claiming harassment, intimidation and fears of personal safety.
She also denied claims by the Opposition that the Patriotic Front is receiving funding from the People’s National Movement, adding that her party’s accounts are open for public scrutiny.
At yesterday’s conference, she also officially announced the party’s 37 candidates for the April 28 General Election, adding that the it would not be contesting the Diego Martin Central, Diego Martin West, Port-of-Spain North/St Ann’s West and Point Fortin seats.
