The heads of the two houses of Parliament are today remembering Basdeo Panday as a “gifted debater”.

A joint statement was issued by Senate President Nigel de Freitas and House Speaker, Bridgid Annisette-George on the passing of Mr Panday.

They say Parliament’s Hansard is filled with examples of his razor-sharp wit which engaged both his political allies and opponents.

They have extended their condolences on the passing of a “distinguished son of the soil.”
