Paria Fuel Trading insists there is no third party in its recently announced contractual arrangement with Petrojam.
The company issued a statement after a television interview last night, which it has since deemed to be inaccurate.
Paria’s agreement is for Petrojam to supply 540,000 barrels of very low sulphur fuel oil over six months, which will be used for bunkering operations.
In a statement today, Paria says it sources marine fuel exclusively and directly from Petrojam, which is then bunkered and sold by Paria to international customers.
It says the arrangement not only secures Petrojam a market for its fuel oil but also presents Paria with the opportunity to supply clean fuel to the Jamaican market.
