Incumbent Mayaro MP Rushton Paray is calling for an economic reinvention for T&T, in light of the recent revocation of this country’s OFAC licenses.

In a release, he suggested investing in measures beyond oil and gas, which he says are necessary to weather the storms.

Among them, he included digital transformation, funding for local tech start-ups, tourism development, agricultural revitalization and maritime sector expansion.

He also said it was time to cut the red tape and simplify the export process, which he believes can reduce the impact of external economic shocks.
