Pan Trinbago President Beverley Ramsey-Moore received six awards during her recent trip to New York.
The accolades were presented during the 57th Annual New York Carnival Parade and related events, and acknowledge her contributions to the steelpan movement and commitment to cultural diplomacy.
On August 31st, 2024, during New York Carnival Week, Mrs Ramsey-Moore was honoured by several distinguished representatives, including:
- New York State Council Member Rita C. Joseph: Certificate of Recognition for her exemplary leadership and unwavering service to the Trinidad and Tobago community.
- Congress Member Yvette D. Clarke: Certificate of Special Recognition, highlighting her invaluable contributions to the community.
- Senator Kevin S. Parker: Proclamation celebrating her noble accomplishments, exemplary service, and lifetime of good citizenship as a cultural ambassador.
- Senator Kevin S. Parker: Certificate of Recognition for outstanding dedication as cultural ambassador
- New York State Assembly Member Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn: Citation acknowledging her selfless public service and significant role in the development of the Steelpan culture at the West Indian American Day Carnival Association (WIADCA) Panorama.
- Monique Chandler-Waterman, Member of Assembly: New York State Assembly Citation, recognizing Ramsey-Moore’s exemplary contributions to her community through unique achievements and dedication to the Steelpan.
Speaking on the awards, Mrs Ramsey-Morre said they “validate the progress of Pan Trinbago as an organization with far-reaching influence, both in Trinidad and Tobago and internationally.”
Meanwhile, on August 17th, Mrs Ramsey-Moore was presented with The Ambassador, Reformist & Trailblazer Award from the Trinidad & Tobago Independence Ball Committee, based in Lauderhill, Florida.
