Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi has risen to the top of the ODI bowling rankings.
Afridi has been in fine form during the ongoing World Cup, taking 16 wickets in seven innings at an average of 19.93.
His recent exploits have seen him jump seven places to first in the rankings ahead of Australia’s Josh Hazlewood in second and India’s Mohammed Siraj in third.
This is the first time the 23-year-old has claimed the number one ranking in any format.
Afridi’s accomplishment means Pakistan players hold the top spots in two ODI categories – Babar Azam is currently the top ranked ODI batter.
