At least 20 people have been killed in two bomb blasts in Pakistan’s Balochistan province, on the eve of general elections.
According to BBC News, the first explosion killed 12 people in front of an independent candidate’s party office in Pishin district, while the second left eight people dead in Qillah Saif Ullah district.
A number of others were injured in the two blasts.
The explosion in Pishin took place outside the election office of a local independent candidate who officials told the BBC was meeting his polling agent at the time.
There have been violent incidents in both Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces in the last week or so in the build-up to Thursday’s vote.
The Balochistan government said the vote would proceed as planned.
