A new Rapid Risk Assessment on yellow fever in the Americas has been issued by PAHO.
This, as the risk to public health remains high due to continued human cases in endemic countries of the Region.
For 2025, cases have increased by eight times, as more than 200 cases and 89 deaths have been reported, as compared to 2024 which had 61 cases and 30 deaths.
Even though vaccination capacities in endemic countries have improved, there still remains a limited global supply of yellow fever vaccines to cover the demand in some regions.
