Over half a million dollars worth of cocaine has washed ashore at Cove Estate, Tobago.

Around 2:40pm yesterday, a black plastic bag containing a white substance was found along the shoreline.

Weighing approximately 1.109 kilograms, it has an estimated street value of TT$515,285.76.

The TTPS says officers of the Tobago Divisional Task Force and Special Intelligence Unit are investigating.

There has been speculation that the cocaine may have come from the overturned vessel currently spilling oil in Tobago’s waters, however the TTPS has not commented.
