A request by Opposition members to discuss the decision to replace the head of the Strategic Services Agency at a Parliamentary Joint Select Committee will reportedly be considered.

On Tuesday MP Dr Roodal Moonilal and Senator Jayanti Lutchmedial wrote with the request to MP Keith Scotland, who is the Chairman of the JSC on National Security.

This morning, Dr Moonilal shared a response from MP Scotland who has proposed to have the request discussed at the next meeting of the Committee as a matter of urgency.

Over the weekend, retired Major Roger Best was sent on administrative leave and Ambassador Brigadier General Phillips-Spencer was called from Washington to assume the role.

The Prime Minister has refuted the notion that government acted irresponsibly in the decision to replace the SSA head.
