Oropouche East MP Dr Roodal Moonilal is calling for an explanation for the removal of Major Roger Best as Director of the Strategic Services Agency.

Over the weekend, the Office of the Prime Minister announced that Major Best had been sent on administrative leave, with Ambassador Brigadier General Anthony Phillips-Spencer installed as acting head.

It added that Ambassador Phillips-Spencer will be initiating an extensive review and audit of all personnel, equipment and processes within the SSA.

In addition to demanding a reason for Major Best’s removal, Dr Moonilal questioned if attempts are being made manipulate the SSA which is a critical intelligence agency.
