The Opposition Leader says a shadow has been cast over the well-being of citizens of T&T.
In her New Year’s message, Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar noted that murders, home invasions, robberies, missing persons, property tax, and the increase in the electricity rate are among the challenges.
She believes there are no government assurances of ending illegal drug and gun imports and gang warfare by sealing off the porous borders, improving surveillance, and boosting detection rates.
Mrs Persad-Bissessar also criticized the Prime Minister’s refusal to be present at crime talks between government and the Opposition.
She believes that citizens must now unite to fight what she calls “the wave of terror” sweeping T&T.
