The Prime Minister should get a pay cut and not an increase, according to the Opposition Leader.

Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar has criticized Dr Keith Rowley after yesterday’s post-cabinet media briefing during which he announced that he would accept a report of the Salaries Review Commission.

The report recommends salary increases for the Prime Minister, President and Opposition Leader.

However, Mrs Persad-Bissessar believes the PM and his government members are not deserving of a pay raise.

She reiterated that she does not want a salary increase and government should instead focus on paying judicial officers and public servants.
