A dagger to the heart of T&T’s democracy – that’s how the Opposition Leader reacted to news that Stuart Young received support from all 21 PNM MPs to take over as Prime Minister.
Following the PNM’s retreat in Tobago, there was said to be a split in votes over who would take over as PM when Dr Keith Rowley steps down.
After a PNM General Council meeting at Balisier House on Saturday, it was revealed that all of the party’s MPs were now in support of Mr Young.
Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar believes it took a special meeting for Dr Rowley to call his Ministers “to heel.”
Furthermore, she warns that the “imposition” of Mr Young will not fix crime, create jobs or reduce the cost of living.
