The Opposition Leader believes the backing of Stuart Young to lead when Dr Keith Rowley steps down as Prime Minister, is an affront to democracy.

Speaking at an UNC meeting last night, Mrs Kamla Persad-Bissessar said Mr Young has failed in each of the ministerial portfolios he has held in government.

Additionally, Mrs Persad-Bissessar raised issue with Mr Young’s recent behaviour.

The announcement that Mr Young is being backed by the PNM’s Parliamentary Caucus was announced yesterday by the Prime Minister following a PNM retreat in Tobago.
