“Oppenheimer” continued its awards season dominance as it scored several top prizes at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.
It won Best Film Cast, while Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr won Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor respectively.
BBC News says the prize for Best Film Cast is seen as the top honour at the SAG Awards in the absence of a Best Picture category.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” star Lily Gladstone was named Best Actress, while Da’Vine Joy Randolph from “The Holdovers” won Best Supporting Actress.
Barbra Streisand was awarded this year’s SAG lifetime achievement award.
Winners in the television categories included Ali Wong and Steven Yeun for Netflix’s road rage series “Beef” – they copped Best Actor in a TV Movie or Limited Series and Best Actress in a TV Movie or Limited Series.
Pedro Pascal won Best Actor in a Drama Series for “The Last of Us” while Elizabeth Debicki received Best Actress in a Drama Series for her portrayal of Princess Diana in “The Crown”.
For comedy, Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri won Best Actor and Best Actress in a Comedy Series for “The Bear”.
