Two persons were arrested after a police-involved shooting and the seizure of two gel blaster guns in Cunupia.

Police say they went to the area around 12:20am yesterday following a report of six men with firearms and found two men dressed in dark clothing with items resembling guns.

The men were ordered to drop the items but one allegedly fired in the officers’ direction, prompting a return of fire.

Police arrested the men and seized two gel blaster guns.

Last month, the Police Commissioner cautioned the public against misusing gel blaster toy guns, noting that items that resemble real firearms are prohibited.
