One suspect was killed and another wounded during a robbery attempt last night.

According to a Guardian report, two men entered a bar at the corner of Dhanpat Lane and the Piarco Old Road shortly after 9pm.

After they announced a robbery and allegedly fired shots in the air, one patron drew and used his licensed firearm.

One of the men, later identified as 18-year-old Kerdell Wint, was shot and died at the scene.

The second suspect was wounded and remains warded.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.
