NP spearheaded a coastal clean-up exercise on Saturday.

The initiative focused on Manzanilla Beach, with 520 pounds of rubbish collected, including plastics, glass bottles, cans and general waste.

NP says a similar exercise will be held in Tobago at Sandy Point Beach this Sunday, September 22nd.

The company’s initiative was also in support of the International Coastal Cleanup Day and coordinated by the Caribbean Network for Integrated Rural Development with NP, as part of the National Planning Committee.

NP says it embraced the opportunity to “help clean the seas, rivers, lakes and waterways; to collect valuable information on the trash/debris collected; to raise awareness on the growing marine debris problem and to contribute to the advancement of marine debris studies and waste management.”
