Nicholas Paul has set a new Pan American record in the Men’s Sprint cycling event.
He recorded a blazing 9.574 seconds during a qualification round at the ongoing Games in Santiago, Chile.
The world record for the event is 9.1 seconds and is also held by Paul.
In a post celebrating the milestone, PanAm Sports encouraged the T&T native to keep pushing the limits.
In the same event, T&T’s Kwesi Shakir Browne clocked a time of 10.073. placing him 11th overall.
The quarter-final races in the sprint event will take place later on Wednesday, while the semi-finals and final are carded for Thursday.
