The National Insurance Board of T&T has engaged the services of local and international cyber-security experts following a ransomware attack on Boxing Day.
In a statement, it says the experts will spearhead the discovery and assessment to mitigate risk.
The incident meanwhile, has also been reported to the Ministry of Digital Transformation and the T&T Cyber Security Incident Response Team under the National Security Ministry.
NIBTT says due to the incident, it is experiencing a disruption to its usual operations, with all of its offices to remain closed until Friday 29th December 2023.
Persons with confirmed appointments during the temporary closure will be facilitated with a new appointment in January 2024, when the NIBTT is expected to resume all operations on a phased basis.
It also assured that all scheduled commitments have been completed for December 2023 and anticipates that all future commitments for January 2024 will be honoured.
