A renewed spirit of student leadership is in the air at The UWI St. Augustine Campus, as the baton was officially passed to the new Guild of Students Council.

Newly elected Guild President Vedanand Hargobin pledged to lead with advocacy, accountability, and teamwork.

He pointed to the often unspoken mental and emotional challenges students face, and vowed to provide support.

Outgoing President Josef Paty has encouraged bold but strategic action, and called on the new council to modernize outdated systems and keep the needs of students at the forefront.
