New PNM Chairman, Vice Chairman chosen

Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly is the new Chairman of the PNM and Colm Imbert is now Vice Chairman.

Both positions were voted on during a special meeting of the PNM’s General Council this evening.

For the post of Chairman, there were two nominees: Dr. Gadsby-Dolly and Port of Spain Mayor, Chinua Alleyne.

Mr Imbert was the lone nominee for Vice Chairman.

In announcing the decision, PNM General Secretary Foster Cummings clarified that the filling of these positions was interim in nature, meaning it will last until the party summons a convention and internal elections to fill the various offices.

Dr. Gadsby-Dolly and Mr. Imbert both served as Deputy Political Leaders until April 30th, when their positions were revoked by outgoing Leader Dr. Keith Rowley.

At this time, the posts of PNM Political Leader and Deputy Political Leaders remain vacant.
