Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley said the new Election and Boundaries Commission’s headquarters will allow the efficient work of the independent body to continue.

He spoke at the new Headquarters sod turning ceremony at the Corner of Lamy Street and Saddle Road, St Clair.

The Prime Minister praised the EBC’s efficiencies and dedication to the democratic process.

He also highlighted that, while UDECOTT assisted in the facility’s design, it was primarily based on the EBC’s recommendations.

Meanwhile, Dr Rowley also said the government is currently engaged in the process of owning long term public buildings in order to stop relying on rental properties.

He noted that these public investments are being done through private sector financing, for the government to repay and eventually have as an asset.
