New arrangements in place after Cabo Star fire

New cargo transportation arrangements are in place for the rest of the week following a fire on the M.V. Cabo Star.

The Inter-island Transportation Company Limited says a minor blaze occurred in the auxiliary engine room around 10:24am yesterday.

Because of this, the boat is now subject to inspections by its classification society which is based in Panama.

During its absence, the following arrangements will be in place:

• Wednesday 21st August, 2024 – The Buccoo Reef will sail from Port of Spain at 9am and depart Scarborough at 2pm
• Thursday 22nd and Friday 23rd August, 2024 – The Galleons Passage will sail from Port of Spain at 9am and depart Scarborough at 4:30pm

Vehicles up to 7000kgs will be accommodated and priority will be given to foodstuff, pharmaceuticals and other perishables.
