New Age Trendsetters and Fusion Steel came out winners in the Ken “Professor” Philmore South/Central Pan Champs competition.
In the Single Pan Band category, New Age placed first with “Band From Space” gaining 259 points ahead of La Romaine Super Vibes on 228 and Jah Roots on 219.
Across in the Conventional band category, Fusion Steel place first in a tightly contested top three with 275 points.
T&TEC Tropical Angel Harps and NLCB Fonclaire placed second and third with 274 and 273 points respectively.
The competition, held yesterday in Skinner Park, marked a return after a 19-year hiatus and was named in honour of the late steelpan icon Ken “Professor” Philmore.
