The National Council of Indian Culture is paying tribute to the late historian Brinsley Samaroo, who passed away over the weekend.

The Professor, who served as an MP and Government Minister, also was a lifetime member of the NCIC.

It notes that he was a key member of the Heritage Centre and was involved in the planning and execution of all the Local and International Conferences held by the NCIC over the years.

The Council adds that Professor Samaroo has left an indelible mark on the Indian Cultural Landscape, fostering a deep appreciation for our rich heritage.

It says his scholarly contributions, insightful research, and passionate advocacy have shaped the way we understand and celebrate Indian culture.
