Sunil Narine will captain the LA Knight Riders for Major League Cricket 2023, with Phil Simmons as Head Coach.

LA, part of the Knight Riders family of franchises, bowl off the tournament on Thursday night against Texas Super Kings at Grand Prairie Stadium.

Ahead the inaugural fixture, LA Knight Riders today revealed both Narine’s captaincy and the team’s support staff, headed by Simmons.

Narine is one of the most experienced campaigners, with over 500 wickets in T20 cricket in 468 games for a range of franchises across the world.

Earlier this year meanwhile, Simmons was named Head Coach of the Knight Riders’ T&T franchise, TKR, for CPL 2023.

He has also had two stints as head coach of the West Indies (2015–2016 and 2019–2022), along with coaching roles for Zimbabwe (2004–2005), Ireland (2007–2015), and Afghanistan (2017–2019).
